Female Genital Mutilation (FGM) has been a practiced in some of the African countries and although many efforts have been put to end this malicious act there are still other communities that still practice this and it’s those that still believe in these outdated traditions. Women and girls living with FGM have experienced a harmful practice. Experience of FGM increases the short and long term health risks to women and girls and is unacceptable from a human rights and health perspective. This practice has many side effects such as; Death due to excessive bleeding, infections, complications during delivery, shock, transmission of diseases like HIV, psychological consequences just to mention a few. Despite all these efforts done to stop this practice we still have societies that practice this and therefore this prompted me to come up with this project because I have seen how girls and women suffer from this and I would like to help put a stop on it.
Thus I am humbly asking for a donation that would help me provide the adequate education to my community that would help eradicate this. The aim is to provide enough knowledge and education to them on the effects of this practice and therefore I would need to have community leaders, health practitioners who will help me with this, providing seminars, counselling and medical assistance to these women that have gone through this horrible experience.
Therefore please support my project by donating so we can help my community end this practice that has had many side effects to girls and women.
